The tour starts at the National Museum which is one of the oldest in Latin America. The building is an antique jail that was turned into a museum. It holds numerous pieces of pre-Hispanic and contemporary art. From there you will be taken to the Botero Museum where modern and contemporary pieces from national and foreign artists are displayed. The next stop will be the Quinta de Bolivar a colonial house which used to be the home of the well-known Simon Bolivar liberator of 5 Latin American countries. Today the house is a museum where you can see BolivarÂs personal things such as weapons uniforms and medals. After that you will go to Casa del Marques de San Jorge a colonial house built in the 16th century along the historic district la Candelaria. There you will find an exposition of objects from the Colonial period and some pre-Hispanic sculptures. You will then be taken to the Colon Theater an antique Florentine-style theater which was opened in 1892 and is considered to be one of the most beautiful national monuments. Finally you will visit the Gold Museum home of the worldÂs largest pre-Hispanic gold work collection. At the end of the tour you will be dropped off at your hotel or at a convenient place within the urban area.
